 | PSEG Basic Gas Supply Service Filing | |
| PSEG made a filing with the Board with a proposed change to its Basic Gas Supply Service (BGSS) rate for residential customers. PSEG is requesting a reduction in the current BGSS-RSG from the current charge of $0.544051 per therm to a charge of $0.451880 per therm. The rate charge is proposed to become effective October 1, 2014, or earlier should the Board desire, to remain in effect until September 30, 2015, or the effective date of PSEG's next BGSS-RSG filing. PSEG notes that the rate is subject to the possibility of a self-implementing BGSS commodity increase of 5% on December 1, 2014 and February 1, 2015. PSEG said the rate decrease is possible because it has, "worked hard to manage the portfolio of gas pipeline and storage agreements to be able to lower gas costs for its residential customers and help keep winter heating bills affordable. The utility also continues to purchase gas from the nearby Marcellus Shale Formation, which has helped to lower supply costs." The full text of the PSEG BGSS Filing is available on the NEM Website.
